Mergers and acquisitions

Acquisition of a company is a process in which one company partially or fully acquires another. At the same time, the acquired company may continue to operate as a separate legal entity or cease to exist and fully become a part of the acquiring company.

Most often, one company acquires another from the same or related industry in order to strengthen its market position.
